TTのタイムは金で買えるでござるよ、の巻。
TTは空気抵抗がほぼ全てだからそれを低減させるにはお金かけるのが手っ取り早いのも事実だけど、Hunter AllenのTT教本読んでて面白いと思った幾つかの点の一つがポジショニング。ここだと風洞実験でのポジショニングで56秒とあるけど、それは既にTTに適正化したポジショニングを風洞実験でより詳細に計測したという話で、普通のロードレースと同じポジションからTTに適正化したポジションに変えると大幅にタイムが違ってくる。
で、TT教本に書いてあったのは、フレームの空気抵抗は走行時の全体に占める空気抵抗の2割くらいであとは搭乗者が発生させる空気抵抗だから、フレームの形状がどれだけエアロで格好良くても、搭乗者のポジションが適性でなければどれだけ高価なフレーム買っても意味無いよ、と。実際、ポジションを合わせるためにカーボンなフレームを使わずにカスタマイズされたホリゾンタルでアルミなフレームを使う人もいるのとのこと。あと、TTのポジショニングにエアロバーは必須。エアロなフレームで17秒なのに、エアロバーだと122秒低減という数字にも現れてる。
